JR. ROCKETS (Ages 5-7)
Prescott Russell Basketball Club (PRBC) is proud to provide our JR. ROCKETS program, which is designed after the JR. NBA program. This program is a co-ed youth basketball program designed to develop FUNdamental skills, sportsmanship, and a love for the game of basketball.
Jr. Rockets is for Girls and Boys aged 5 to 7 (born in 2017. 2018 and 2019)
The Jr. Rockets program:
- runs every Saturday from October to just before March Break
- 60 to 90 minute sessions
- modifies its games to ensure age-appropriate, simple and fun
- use a smaller basketball and/or lower hoops
Groups, Times & LocationHOUSE LEAGUE (Ages 8-18)
House League focuses on teaching fundamental basketball skills with an EMPHASIS ON FUN to those who are new to the sport or players who are interested in only playing recreationally. There are NO try outs - anyone and everyone can join!
Maximum of 25 players per division.
Start date: October 19, 2024 / End date: March 1, 2025
Divisions and Schedule:
Beginning October 19-20 weekend:
- U10 co-ed: Sundays 11:00am to 12:30pm @ St. Thomas Aquinas
- U12 co-ed: Sundays 12:30pm to 2:00pm @ St. Thomas Aquinas
- U14 co-ed: Sundays 12:30pm to 2:00pm @ St. Thomas Aquinas
- Senior co-ed: Saturdays 1:00pm to 2:30pm @ Russell High School
- Junior girls: Saturdays 9:00am to 10:30am @ École La Croisée
- Senior girls: TBD
Runs once weekly, starting the week after Thanksgiving until the weekend before March Break
- 90 minutes per week, evenly split between skills & drills development followed by equal time of game play.
- ALL players are guaranteed equal playing time during games.
- Age groups and divisions can change from year to year based on registrations.
WHAT TO WEAR: SPRING LEAGUE (Ages 8-18)
Boys and Girls Divisions - Grades 3 - 12
Extra playing time for those wanting to continue to be active before their summer sports begin! Another opportunity to learn and prepare for the "jump" to House League next season! Teams will be made as equal and age appropriate as possible.
- For kids with years of birth 2007-2017
- All Games will be 60 min
- Equal participation for full Game
- 25 players per group MAX
- Minimal instructions are provided to players and the sessions consist mostly of adult supervised fun games with volunteer refs. May be less suitable for beginners not familiar with the basic rules of basketball.
- Day and times:
- U10 co-ed (2015 to 2017): Sundays @ 9am
- U12 co-ed: (2013-14): Sundays @ 10:10am
- Junior Girls (2013 to 2017): Sundays @ 11:20am
- Senior Girls (2007 to 2012): Sundays @ 12:30pm
- U14 Boys: (2011-12): Sundays @ 1:40pm
- Senior Boys (2007 to 2010): Sundays @ 2:50pm

- Location: St. Thomas Aquinas CHS in Russell (Permit approval pending)
- Expected start Date - 27 Apr 2025 / End Date - 22 June 2025 (There will be no games on Sunday, 18th May for the Victoria Day long weekend, and the May 25th date is currently TBD because of gym unavailability)
REGISTRATION FEE: $150 (inc. t-shirt or pinnie)
REGISTRATIONS: 12 March 2025 to 4 April 2025
New this year, a second portal for volunteer registrations has been opened. Our Spring League cannot run smoothly without the involvement of parents and volunteers to coordinate, referee, run the table and the benches/coach for each session. The PRBC Rockets family is 100% volunteers based and truth of the matter is, we need your help. If too few volunteers are identified for any given group, we will be forced to unfortunately cancel that specific group and refund parents. High school students in need of volunteer hours are also encouraged to sign up!

ADULT LEAGUE
PRBC’s Adult League was an overwhelming success in its inaugural season (2019-20). We will increase the number of teams and players going forward.
Teams are co-ed
Sunday Games are played at TBD between 6:00 and 9:30 pm.
Season starts the first Sunday in October and runs to the end of May.
